My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Rune is a beautiful red brindle Catahoula mix, she is a very smart girl (she learned sit in 5 minutes... not using treats) she is very eager to please, very human oriented. She loves children, actually loves all people really and she is very active. She would do really well in a home with another mid-sized to large dog with energy to spare or with somebody who's extremely active and will help her expend a lot of the energy she has.

We're not really sure where Rune came from or what's happened to her before we found her. She showed up on doorstep of one of our foster homes, skinny, malnourished and wanting affection and love. She does have the classic Catahoula glass eye, and she is a beautiful red brindle, but she does have some scars around her nose. When asked, the vet said that perhaps she got her face stuck in a chain link fence or perhaps it was caused by a muzzle. Regardless of what she went through before, she really is such a happy girl and so trusting, did we already say eager to please and human oriented?

She weighs about 45 lbs, the vet estimated her age at about a year. She has been spayed, is current on vaccination, and heartworm negative. She is crate trained, she seems to do ok with cats, but due to her size, energy and playfulness, wouldn't recommend her being unsupervised with them. She absolutely adores children, again, due to her size, energy and playfulness, we wouldn't recommend small children.

If you are interested in adopting Rune, or just finding out more about her please go to www.homesforpets.org and complete an adoption application. Her adoption fee is $115.00
