Hiya, my name is Callie! Aren’t I the prettiest blonde dapple wire girl? I’m only about 3-4 years old and foster mom says I’m a small tweenie. Before living with her I was kept outside and had lots of puppies, but now I’m learning to love the comforts of indoor life and what it is to be pampered and spoiled!
I really enjoy the company of other similar sized dogs and can’t imagine life without at least one other dog in the family. The more the merrier I think, it really helps me to feel comfy and learn the ropes! We all get along well and sometimes will snuggle on a big dog bed together. It really is a great way to live! At night I curl up in a wire crate near mom’s bed with loads of blankets. So long as I’m near the pack I’m content. Small children have a lot of fun energy, but it’s a bit too much for me so I prefer a more calm, quiet home. I like to play around with toys and chew on stuff mom has given me, but I also like her shoes if she leaves them laying around! They can be great fun to drag around, but I will let her take them back when she asks. I really love food too! Oh boy, food and treats really get me super excited!! I get really excited when Mom comes home too- I bounce around, run laps and my tail never stops! I’m still shy about her touching me a lot though so I only get so close during my excited play. I’m still working on my housetraining as well. Mom & Dad are showing me I’m a good girl when I use the pee pads and when I’m taken outside I will do my business. I’m a bit unsure about spending a lot of time outside though and prefer time indoors on comfy beds or curled up near the fireplace. When I’m not curled up napping or chewing on a toy I like to quietly follow Mom around the house. I’m interested in seeing what she’s doing, especially when she’s in the kitchen! Life seems good now and I’m slowly learning to trust people. Will you be the one to show me what true love can be? –Callie
Callie really is a sweet little girl! Yes, she had some tough beginnings, but I have really seen her starting to learn to trust people and be comfortable at home. She will let me pick her up sometimes, but her shy, timid ways hold her back from being cuddly. She shows love in her own way and has not one drop of aggression. When I take her outside to do her business it is on a lead since she IS timid and I may not be able to get her back in the house. Outdoors doesn’t seem to interest her much and she doesn’t really explore… she just wants to get back inside to the comfort of the giant dog bed! This little girl is very special, and while she may never be an outgoing cuddly dog, she deserves nothing but the best.
