My story

Hi there! My name is Winter! I’m a 7 week old, LH, female dachshund! My mommy is Cora, ain’t she gorgeous? Foster ma says my body will probably look most like hers when I am all grown up! All I know is I am puuuuurdy!

We have no idea who my pa was – ma was dumped at a shelter, pregnant with me and my sibs! She gave birth in foster care on February 12 and I am so thankful that it was in a warm, loving home instead of a cold, lonely shelter! I am currently 4.6 lbs and foster ma thinks I’ll be between 13– 20 lbs full grown – but who really knows! I’ve got some longer legs and can run like the wind! Like all puppies I love playing – with toys, humans and my sibs! I also like getting into things I am not supposed to like foster ma’s closest, the house plants and anything that enters my path! I LOVE humans - really, I just want to be your trusty sidekick! Basically, I am a happy go-lucky, cute and funny puppy! I would make a wonderful addition to any family! But of course, foster ma wants to make sure you know… 

Puppies are A LOT of work! Yes, they are adorable but don’t forget they require housetraining, leash training, crate training and LOTS of socialization! The first year of their life is the most important and where literally all of their development takes place! Their ideal applicant would be someone who is away for no more than 4 hours at a time, who have the patience and commitment to train and puppy and who can handle endless amounts of love, cuddles and kisses!
