My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, my name is Laverne, and I’m a 5 yr. old, black and tan long-haired wiener.  My dapple pattern makes me extra cute.  I weigh about 10 lb.
Ok, so I have to be honest with you. No good relationship starts with a lie. I can be a little stand-offish, but only at first! Once I get to know my “person”, I love them to pieces.  I’m very afraid of pretty much everything, and it takes me a few days to trust someone new.  But once I realize that you can be trusted, and that you won’t hurt me,  watch out –I am a love machine!
Ok, a little more honestly. I am an attention hog. So I’m best in a one-dog house.  And I am terribly afraid of men, although, with time, I can learn to love them too.   No kids for me, they move too quickly.
But some of my quirks are understandable. My life started off in a puppy mill so I haven’t learned all the things I should know, like being house-trained, but I’m getting better at using the pee pad.  And how to walk properly...but I’m so small,I don’t like to walk far.   This might change once I learn to be more trusting.
I’m really a very good couch potato.   I can jump up onto your lap, but I can’t jump off. Well, ok, I could jump off if I really wanted to. But why would I want to that?! I just really need a lap to sit on and a person to love.
Is there a retired couple, or a lady out there who will love to have me as badly as I want to be with them?
