Here's what the humans have to say about me:
My name is Checkers and I am a eight month old pit mix don't be scared I am very friendly). I was found as a stray and nearly starved to death at 7 pounds. I am now happy and well feed at 26 pounds. Due to being starved I will most likely not get much bigger than I am now. I look like a puppy half my age.
My foster mommy thinks I am very special as I get along well with her dog and cats and even chickens. I do have some energy so I need someone who has time for a puppy. I am still working on potty training and need to be taken out a lot so I don't have accidents. I also am still working on my play biting/mouthy issue which is common with puppies. So small kids would not really like me doing that.
I need a family that has a lot of time to give to me as I want to be everywhere with my new family. I like to sleep beside your bed in my dog bed or better yet in bed with you. I would not do well with a family that has to crate for several hours as I need to go potty often and need to be around others.
What I need is a patient family who will love me and keep me forever, they need to work with me on my puppy issues without getting mad. I am neutered already and up to date on my shots. I would do best with a retired family or a family that has a stay at home parent to give me lots of love.
