My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello everybody! My name is Sheila. I am a 2-year-old spayed female Shih Tzu/Poodle mix. I weigh about 13 pounds.

I am a super sweet gal with a big heart. I love everybody I meet - people and dogs alike! Whenever I meet someone I greet them with a great big smile and a wagging tail. I get so excited that I just can't sit still.

I was brought into a local high-kill shelter as a stray. When I came in I was lactating, but there were no puppies to be found. I'm not sure what happened to them. It's possible that I had a previous owner who no longer wanted me, but decided to keep my puppies. Or maybe I had puppies while I was on the streets and we got separated somehow. It's hard to say for sure.

After just a week of being at the shelter, a volunteer took notice of me and asked CageFree if they would be willing to take me into their rescue. Thankfully, they said yes! I'm having a great time getting to know everyone here, but I'm looking forward to finding a family of my own. Are you the family for me?

I'm a pretty excitable pup so I'm looking for an active family. I would love to go on vacations with you and do day trips to the beach or the dog park. I'm pretty easygoing so whatever you're interested in doing, I'm sure I'd enjoy it, too!
