Ruby's Story...
RUBY - 32 lb 6 yr old Beagle Mix - LIVED OUTSIDE ALL HER LIFE!

High Falls, NY 12440 - "My name is Ruby and I am a 6 year old, 32 lb. spayed female Beagle mix. I was originally surrendered to the NYCACC by my family because the toddler didn't like me and so I lived outside all of my life! Now, my foster family has shown me what it's like to live indoors and be loved. They've been teaching me how to trust people, work on my social skills, and walk nicely on the leash. I get along well with other dogs but because I never had interaction with cats, I am very curious about the ones in my foster family (of course they don't let me get close enough to really investigate what they are so that makes me want to chase them).

I know I can't stay here for long and am hoping that someone wants to make me a part of their family forever. Will you be the family that teaches me what true love is all about?"

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ruby, a New York Beagle dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Beagle for sale in New York, or seeking a Beagle dog from a breeder in New York.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in New York already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a New York breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Beagle breeders who help with Beagle rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in New York paves the way for another one to be saved.
