THIS IS DEXTER.....a spirited, 3 yr old, 10 lb, white, Shih Tzu Poodle/Maltese mix, whose story is a sad one. This little angel was found dodging cars in the worst part of South Central. His rescue angel said she thought he was a gray dog, he was so dirty. He was not neutered, no ID, no chip....he was very lucky to be in the wrong place at the right time! A makeover, neuter, chip, lots of love and good food can do wonders for a little guy! Dexter MUST go to a home where there is another dog...as he will cry if he is alone...tells us that he was abandoned and doesn't want to be left again! That being said, he does not have separation anxiety; just wants a canine sibling to hang out with. He loves playing with other dogs, toys, is a happy guy and seems to be good with almost everyone! He'd prefer a home without young children, but respectful kids over 12 years old should be fine. He's getting the hang of potty training but may need a refresher course. If you have been looking for a dapper dude to love and cuddle, who will kiss you and let you know how much he appreciates being rescued....he's your guy!

UPDATE!!!! Lhasa Happy Homes will be now holding our adoption events most every Sunday at ROVER KENNELS on Main Street in Santa Monica (check calendar link below for special events and directions). Rover is located at 2116 Main Street, in Santa Monica, CA. Here you will have an opportunity to interact with the dogs and see which might be a perfect fit with your household. Main Street is famous for its innovative shops and is close to the beach! Make a day of it!! Metered parking on the street and free parking on 4th and Bicknell Streets.
Here you will have an opportunity to interact with the dogs and see which might be a perfect fit with your household....and do some fantastic shopping at the same time! Please do call us if you are coming to see a particular dog to make sure he/she will be at adoptions (we do not bring sick dogs to our adoption events). Please bring a copy of your application and pictures of your home and yard if we have not done a home check! Most importantly, if you have a dog, make sure you bring him or her to do a compatibility match with the dog you are interested in adopting!
