Cherokee's Story...
Check out little Cherokee! This two year old Shih Tzu came to us as a matted mess. He's been shaved down, neutered and is now ready to find a new home! Cherokee has all the spunk and attitude you can expect from a Shih Tzu. He's a happy, lively boy with energy to spare. Weighing just fifteen pounds, he'll make an excellent companion for short strolls or couch-sitting. Cherokee has a "big dog" personality and would do best as only dog, or with a female, canine companion.

Cherokee has been neutered, fully vaccinated and is heartworm negative. He's also current on heartworm prevention and full-grown at 15 pounds. All Cherokee needs now is a home of his own!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Cherokee, a Germantown Shih Tzu dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu for sale in Germantown, or seeking a Shih Tzu dog from a breeder in Germantown.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Germantown already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Germantown breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu breeders who help with Shih Tzu rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Germantown paves the way for another one to be saved.
