Sweetpea's Story...
Sweetpea is a wonderful little 2 year old female Dachshund mix girl. She recently arrived at the shelter and has stolen everyone's heart! The best estimate is that she weighs around 18-22 pounds.

Sweetpea is a cuddler, loves attention from the volunteers at the shelter and gets along with all of the dogs here.

She is looking for a home to call a furrever home. Would that be with you.

Sweetpea resides at a rescue organization in Arkansas. Please contact Gail Ross at 870-431-8229, or via email at gailspets@hotmail.com to discuss this dog. You can find our adoption application by going to www.Gailspets.org and clicking on the Adoption Application tab. The application, when completed and submitted, will be electronically sent to Gail’s email address.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Sweetpea, a Oakland Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Oakland, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Oakland.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Oakland already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Oakland breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Oakland paves the way for another one to be saved.
