My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Mystic came to our rescue from the streets of Saint Augustine FL. She arrived extremely skinny, pregnant, and no ID tag or microchip was found. Seems that Mystic was wondering the streets for a while. We put out an alert to give the owner a chance to claim their dog. After seeing the poor condition of Mystic we were glad nobody claimed this girl, because what happened to Mystic is considered as animal neglect. As Mystic entered the rescue, we thought once she fattens up, we will get the babies born, and help her with a new start.

Upon arrival Mystic went to the Vet for a check up. We were informed that she has been eating what came under her nose. Mystic had plastic, tin foil, and several other objects in her body. These foreign objects can hurt intestines and badly injure our girl. Sadly, as if this was not enough, we found out Mystic is HW+. After few discussions with our trustee Vet the hardest decision was made. Mystic needed surgery fast to save her intestines and sadly her pregnancy had to be eliminated. Babies were less than two weeks old, so the X-ray would not reveal their full skeletons.

After few days of some difficult decisions and emotional rollercoaster our girl is recovering. Mystic looks great. This girl is such trooper, but what a wonderful personality she has. Mystic is very sweet, confident, still very young girl and she is very smart. She loves to learn obedience and tricks also. Mystic gets along with big dogs and she is great with older kids too. Mystic is NO cats, NO small dogs, and we would prefer breed experienced owner. Mystic will continue her Heartworm Treatment while in her foster home. Mystic has a playful side to her also, but in a mean time we have to keep her calm. She is gorgeous on smaller side, about 65lb right now. She is very balanced girl and joy to be around. Her adoption fee is $250
