My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Come and take a look at pretty Cleopatra. She's a 2 year old Pharaoh Hound mix that was found as a stray by an APL volunteer on Berkeley in Elyria. She listens well, walks great on a leash and is an all around great girl. The temperament of a Pharaoh Hound is playful, active, intelligent, affectionate, trainable and sociable. Cleopatra fits this bill. She was recently adopted and returned. Cleopatra and the family's other dog did not get along. She also would guard her food so it may be best if she was adopted by a family with older children and as an only pet. The family said she was very well behaved and slept with the adults in the family. Cleopatra also was excellent with her house training and had manners in the home.

On October 01, 2015, Cleopatra was selected to be one of Friendship's Prison Dogs. She is currently undergoing training at the Grafton Correctional Institution. Prison Dogs are trained in obedience, basic commands, manners and proper leash walking. She will spend approximately 12 weeks at the prison.

If you are interested in adopting this prison dog, adoption applications are now being accepted. This dog will be returning to Friendship probably sometime in late December. All dogs return on an individual basis. You can find an app at friendshipapl.org under ADOPT-FIND A FRIEND. Hand deliver the app to Friendship or call if you live a distance away to see if you can fax one in. Please DO NOT email the app.

If you have any questions, please contact the shelter at 440-322-4321. Or email at adoptions@friendshipapl.org.

All dogs receive one or more vaccinations, a basic veterinary examination, are wormed, heartworm tested and spayed or neutered. Dogs 3 months and older are micro-chipped.
