My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Layla is a mother dog rescued from Petaling Jaya early 2014. Her puppies have been adopted, however, Layla has very little chance of local adoption. Street dogs are not widely seen as desirable pets, especially adult dogs. Malaysia is primarily a Muslim country and many don’t deem dogs suitable as pets. Layla is estimated to be 3 years old approximately 50 pounds.

Upon rescue by “Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better”, the first couple of months, like many other street dogs, she kept to herself a lot but then one fine day she turned a new leaf and demanded attention nudging anyone that was around. She was then moved indoor where her favorite place to hang out was the kitchen – where the food was and soon it started to show on her “beer belly” lookalike.. It is pretty hard to ignore or say no her as she has a very human trait – she bats her eyelids when she wants something. Layla is a very special girl and is used now to being cared for hence cannot be released back to the streets. She has been put on a diet and exercised. She loves her walks and even hiking. She gets along great with other dogs and all people (including kids). She has a very calm and loving temperament and would make an ideal companion for a very lucky family.

Layla will be arriving into Chicago on September 29, 2015 from Malaysia. Layla is looking for her home.
