My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Adopted - Dec 2015

It’s me, Mikey! I’m baaaaaaaack!

First off, thanks so much to everyone who donated to my biopsy, you guys are the absolute best! Muskoka Animal Rescue has run diagnostic tests on me including a biopsy, ultrasound, and a fine needle aspirate and all tests came back without concerns. I will have to be on supplements to support my liver function.

I am an 10 Yr old male Min Pin that weights about 8 lbs. I am up to date on my shots, neutered, and am working on the whole house training thing!

Now I am a bit of an old fart. Lost my teeth a while back but let me tell you when it comes to food nothing, and I mean NOTHING slows me down! I love my treats and even my chew toys, I just go to town on them! I am having a fantastic time with my foster Mama, she has taught me a ton of things. She says I’m a real loyal poochie. I can be shy with strangers at first but once I get to know you we’ll bond like we’ve been buddies for years. I’m not so great on leash and all the noises around me kinda freak me out but in my defense I was never taken for walks before so this whole rope thing is new but I’m workin’ on it. My foster Mama says that I definitely shouldn’t be off leash with my new owners for a while at first cuz I am impossible to catch (personally it’s fun playing the “you can’t catch me” game, but you may not think so after a while...lol).

I love to be cuddled, and picked up, and carried around (well who wouldn’t love that kind of attention from the person their bonded too, of course not so much with strangers, I get scared!) and I’m an excellent lap sitter, I mean really I should receive some kind of award for that! As I am no spring chicken I do need to be let out to do my business every couple of hours (I don’t plan on leaving you any surprises on the floor, how embarrassing, but since I was never house trained as a pup I’m slow on the whole “let you know I gotta go now” thing!) and I can also get a little barky when left alone so maybe if you have space between your place and the neighbors it would be best. What would really be great was if you are home all day or you can take me to work, I’d love that. I enjoy playing with cat toys (that’s probably cuz they are tiny like me). Speaking of cats, I get along with them great, dogs too! My favorite time is bedtime cuz that’s when I get to snuggle under the covers with my favorite person.

I sure am enjoying my twilight years and I’m so ready to retire to my forever home!
