Lefty's Story...
This adorable young kitten is Lefty, a 5 month old gray and white guy that is so lucky that he was found when he was. Poor Lefty was quite sick when he was found as a stray at only about 8 weeks old and he was suffering with an upper respiratory infection that was so bad, it caused his little eye to rupture. He was thin and weak but with lots of good medical over several weeks, Lefty became well again and now, he is loving life! What remained of Lefty's eye had to be removed, but gets around perfectly fine and he doesn't let it hold him back at all from enjoying life and making lots friends. Lefty is extremely outgoing and loves everyone he meets. He has lots of happy kitten energy and is always ready to play and have a good time. He loves other cats and even cats that are twice his size get a kick out of little Lefty when he starts his antics with them. Lefty would love a good family that will love and care for him, and let him play and be the little goofball that he is. He will keep you smiling forever if you give Lefty the home that he's dreaming of. File#25021 6/30/15

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lefty, a Forked River Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Forked River, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Forked River.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Forked River already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Forked River breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Forked River paves the way for another one to be saved.
