My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

REESE is a 1 year old neutered chocolate male Lab who weighs 58 pounds. He is a very handsome and friendly young boy. He is house trained and crate trained. He is used to being crated at night and when his family is not home. Reese loves to go for walks. He does best with a gentle leader or a Easy Walk Harness to help limit his pulling. Reese is a very smart boy! He knows the commands: sit, touch, leave it, and take it. He loves to go for runs and loves to swim. Reese enjoys retrieving and tennis balls are his favorite toys. He is great with other dogs he meets at the dog park and on walks. He is good with kids. Reese is approved for kids ages 10+.

Update (11/07): - Reese enjoyed spending a beautiful day on the water. He is a playful, energetic 1 year old. His new family doesn't need to own a boat but he thinks it would be great if you promise to take him swimming occasionally.

Update (11/03): Reese is all pup and just wants to play. He's currently living with 3 female labs and gets along with them well. He's crate and house trained. He knows sit, shake, kiss and do you want to eat? He just learned to go in his crate when I say, go in your "crate" (when it's feeding time). He eats in his crate to avoid the hubbub. He enjoys long walks and does well on a leash. He plays hard so living with another young pup (1 - 4 years old), would be ideal for him. He gets bored with his toys and refers back to playing with the other pups. His ideal home would be a single family home, with a high fenced back yard and another young pup to play hard and act crazy with. Reese is still growing and his legs bow out so the Vet recommended that he not be a human running companion. at least until he's finished developing. He's not a dog that would do well being crated all day as he's got too much energy. When he gets too excited or over stimulated I massage him until he relaxes or falls asleep in my lap.

Update (10/21): I'm being a good boy and getting along well with the resident pups! Hoping there's a brother and/or sister in my near future. Reese is a very active, but very sweet and loving 14 month old looking for his forever family! He likes to take long walks (not runs), gets along well with other dogs and loves to play! His ideal family/home would be a single family with a large fenced yard so he can play and hopefully with a brother or sister. He's crate trained too! Did I mention this guy is so handsome??

Update (10/14): Sweet Reese just wants to be loved. He's great on long walks and doesn't pull, however he was curious about the trash truck going by. We are working on sitting patiently as they go by because going out on trash pickup would be a stinky business! Reese knows sit, shake and is starting to give kisses. We'll be working on down and hope to have it mastered by the weekend. He's good with other pups and does well in his crate, but even better if he can see you! He definitely needs a family that can give him lots of love and attention!!

Update (10/12): Reese had a lot of fun at the Gaithersburg AALD. Watch him at: https://youtu.be/yV8LNz7u09c

Update (10/5): Reese had a fun weekend at a temporary foster. He's going to be a wonderful dog for someone. He plays really well at the dog park and is so fast. We've had a lot of fun with him. He pulls on the leash but using an Easy Walk harness is helpful until he learns how to heel. He will do best in a home where he can have access to exercise or another playful playmate. He will not do well living in an apartment. He is such a good cuddler. Reese thinks he is a lap dog and will just crawl on top of you and fall asleep.

Update (9/25): Reese is a very handsome and friendly young boy. No cat history. He is good with kids and is approved for kids 10 and over.

From evaluator: Reese is a very handsome boy with a beautiful coat. He is a ball of constant energy! Reese needs an active family that can give him the exercise and attention he needs. He is very food driven and wants to please his humans. He will be your best buddy if you play ball with him.
