Rooney's Story...
Dec Update - fully recovered and ready to go! Check out Rooney's video. Now 10 mos old and still 7lbs Rooney loves to travel and be cuddley or active.
Nov. 10 - UPDATE! Rooney is ready for a home! He had his knee surgery and is doing great. A young pup (now about 9 months old) very fun and cuddly. Still only 7 lbs and loves other dogs and kids and people. Will play ball or sleep in your lap. Ok in his crate and housebroken. A perfect travel partner! Email about Rooney so you can meet him: Adopt@thisisthedog.com or Charelle@thisisthedog.com
Sept. 26: This little sweetie was found lost or abandoned in a parking lot. He will be fully vetted and neutered before adoption. Rooney, as in soccer star Wayne Rooney, will be ready for adoption around Oct. 3rd. We believe Rooney to be about 9 months old, he weighs less than 10 pounds (maybe 7-8 lbs) and just loves to play with a rope toy. He is learning quickly to walk on a leash and he likes the company of other dogs. Rooney is in a foster home with 2 larger dogs and a 9-year old child who he adores. Rooney will make a great addition to any family, big or small. He could be an only dog or a companion to another dog or person. So far no potty accidents in the house and he is getting used to his crate when the family is away. But at night snuggling is a must! Email to meet Rooney today! Adopt@thisisthedog.com

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Rooney, a Homestead Chihuahua/Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua/Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) for sale in Homestead, or seeking a Chihuahua/Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) dog from a breeder in Homestead.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Homestead already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Homestead breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua/Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) breeders who help with Chihuahua/Terrier (Unknown Type, Small) rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Homestead paves the way for another one to be saved.
