Hello there! Thank-you for clicking on my profile - let me tell you a little bit about myself so that we can get to know each other better.
My name is Ashton and I am a 8 year old neutered male Poodle/Shih Tzu who came to NBS Animal Rescue when I was found as a stray and my family never came looking for me. It was rough for a bit - but - I'm doing much better now that I'm with a super duper awesome Foster Mom who is taking very good care of me!
I am a sweet and loving little fella who is looking for a calm and gentle home - with someone who wants a fantastic companion to spend time with! I am potty trained, get along well with most other mellow and friendly dogs, but can have the occasional outburst, so I may do best as an only dog. I enjoy going for short walks on a daily basis and getting belly rubs.. I'm not much for cats - so I would prefer a home without felines. The doggy doctor said that I'm doing fantastic, but that I do have a heart murmur that should be monitored at my yearly vet visits. Don't worry though! I'm doing great and don't require any medication for it.
I'm a friendly and loving fella who is looking for someone who is home often, who will give me lots of attention and TLC. I enjoy snoozing in the sunshine on a comfy couch or doggy bed, and soaking up all the belly rubs I can get!

I am looking for a home that has all of the following things or a family with a plan in place to help me with the things I need below. - Home with no cats, and preferably the only dog
My adoption fee is $150.00 and includes a DHPP vaccine, bordatella vaccine, de-worming, spay/neuter surgery, rabies vaccine (age appropriate), heartworm test (age appropriate), heartworm preventative, flea/tick preventative, microchip insertion, bath, nail trim, ear cleaning, leash and collar and one week's worth of food.

1.) Visit www.nbsar.org to fill out an online adoption application and we will start processing your application right away! We do require that persons interested in meeting me apply online and be approved as an adopter first so please visit our website and submit your application today!
2.) Call your veterinarian and give them permission to release information about your current and past pets veterinary history.
3.) Call your references and let them know to expect a phone call from an unknown phone number as they will be speaking with a member of our team as a personal references.
Our adoption process requires that any pet in your household be current on it's vaccinations and heartworm preventative as well as spayed/neutered unless there is a documented medical reason on file with your veterinarian. Dogs must be current on Distemper DHPP combo vaccine and Rabies vaccine, cats must be current on Distemper and Rabies at the time of application. This also applies to any pets in your home within the past five years.
