Riley is an 11-week-old, neutered male, yellow tabby Domestic Shorthair.  He is an exceptionally sweet boy. He is very playful, enjoying rowdy play with his sisters and loves toys (even the simplest of toys).  Riley is very interactive and responsive when you call for him.  I play with him a lot, and he loves being where I am and a part of whatever I am doing.  He loves being cuddled and held in my arms on his back while rubbing his belly. I love him and wish for him a great loving forever family.
Their mommy showed up late winter.  I fed and loved her up to the birth of the kittens.  She brought the babies right to me.  Together, we have fed, loved, and nurtured them to be ready for a great life. I am staying with my 90 y.o. father, assisting with his care, so I am unable to truly provide an indoor life these kittens deserve.  They are very special, affectionate, and well behaved.  They love being near me, whatever I'm doing.  I laugh, because when I'm doing something they are right next to me watching with curiosity.

About Cat's Cradle of the Shenandoah Valley

About Our Rescue Group...

Founded in 1998, Cat’s Cradle seeks to end euthanasia of healthy adoptable cats and dogs in Shenandoah Valley through aggressive spay/neuter of owned animals and TNR (trap/neuter/release) of feral cats.

We also have a network of foster parents and an active adoption program for cats. In 2009 we opened an adoption center in Harrisonburg. We do not euthanize for space.

Please visit our website at: for more information.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We show our cats at PetSmart in Springfield, VA on most 1st and 3rd Saturdays, at the PetSmart in Harrisonburg, VA on some Saturdays and some Sunday afternoons, and at the Petsmart in Waynesboro on Saturdays. We also show cats at our adoption center at 124 S Main St. in Harrisonburg 11-6 M-F, and 11-5 Sat and 11-4 Sunday.

Please visit our website: for other adoption events and hours for showings or call the adoption center at 540-433-1135.

Our Adoption Process...

Please see our website: for a copy of our adoption application and adoption contract. Adoption fees vary, but generally run around $135.

All our cats are spayed or neutered before adoption, and fully vetted. We have an adoption center in Harrisonburg, but we also make extensive use of foster homes until adoption.

We generally prefer indoor only homes, and our contract specifies that the cat(s) will not be de-clawed.

We have some cats that cannot be adopted into an indoor situation. For these, we seek safe barn or out-building locations.
