JJ is a 5 yr old male, neutered 11 lb Chihuahua mix with very striking coloring and an adorable curly tail. JJ is incredibly sweet and affectionate.  He loves attention and will flop over on his back for belly rubs. He loves to give kisses and hugs. JJ is crate trained and potty trained.  JJ is playful but wants nothing more than a lap to curl up and sleep in.  He will sleep happily in his crate all night, or sleep in bed with you with no problems.  JJ gets along with other dogs of all sizes but will be vocal with larger dogs so they must be tolerant. He has been known to bark at cats but does not chase them or pursue them.  JJ makes a great guard dog and will bark to let you know if anyone is around or there is a suspicious noise. Once everything is confirmed to be safe, he settles down quickly and loves to greet everyone with kisses and affection.  JJ would do best in a home where there are no children under the age of 12 that might pull his tail or chase him.  He tends to get scared and defensive if that happens.

It is against the law in the State of Texas for a rescue not to be sterilized so we have to make sure it gets completed and that we have record of it.

NOTE: In our bios, we provide information based on our volunteer's experience with a particular dog; such as temperament, training, and ability to get along with others.

AARF is a 501(c)3 Non Profit, all breed, no kill organization. Our group is always in need of donations in order to continue to give the needed medical care to our rescues. Adoption fees do not begin to cover all of the medical costs. Any donation, no matter how small is a big help and is greatly appreciated. Please help us to continue to help them. Thank you.
