My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bella's Info: Estimated age: 2 years old, Female, Cockapoo, 12 pounds. I am already spayed, micro-chipped, UTD with shots, and good with dogs of all sizes. I take a little bit of time to warm up to humans, but once I do, I’m a total cuddle bug.

Bella’s Story: Bella’s first two years have been tough. Her first family purchased her from a breeder for their daughter, who was diagnosed with cancer. The daughter developed a terrible allergy to the dog while she was going through chemotherapy, so they sold her to a friend. The next owner had no business having a dog. She worked long hours and often left Bella crated for up to 16 hours a day. Bella’s second owner decided she didn’t want her anymore, so it’s time for her to find her forever home. When I got her, she was malnourished, unsocialized, had never played with dog toys and was unable to sleep soundly in her crate. Over the past month at our home, she has put on weight, loves playing with toys, attends dog daycare 4x a week with great success and sleeps quietly in her crate for 8 hours.

The neglect over the past year and a half means that Bella needs structure, exercise and affection in a significant way. She is food motivated, so we are finding plenty of opportunities to praise her for going potty outside and playing with her toys at her “place.” We are working on her housetraining habits, “sit and stay” and “down.” She is a very shy little girl and cautiously interested in other dogs, but prefers sitting on the couch with an adult human and having a toy all to herself.

This is a special little pup that loves affirmation, attention and smothering her human with plenty of kisses. We believe that for Bella, the third home will be the charm and that you could be the human she has been waiting for. For more information or to meet her, please contact Allison at 702-539-9230.
