My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

GUNNER is a 3 year old neutered black male Lab who weighs 85 pounds. Gunner is an owner give up to Lab Rescue. Gunner lived on a farm and had free roam. He's a strong boy and pulls on the leash. He knows a few commands such as sit and down but his new family will need to work with him. While Gunner weighs 85 pounds, it's obvious that he has never missed a meal or a snack. He's going to be on a green bean diet at his foster home to help him lose 10+ pounds. He rides like a dream in the car and will jump up in it without a problem. Gunner met his foster sisters and nephew without any issues. He is tolerant of Jackson's puppy (16 weeks) antics and seems to enjoy playing with him. His Foster Mom reports that he is a total love and is relaxed in the home.
Gunner is looking for a true forever family. In his short 3 years he has come from a breeder to family #1. Family #2 adopted him from the family in North Carolina as a companion for their other lab and he's been living outside since June 2014. Gunner was given up to the family moving from the farm and downsizing. Now he is currently in a foster home in search of his forever home that he so deserves. Gunner is a good rider. He pulls on leash and will need a little work on that. He was keeping his run clean at the vet and we are told he is house trained. He is good with dogs. He will chase cats but not to hurt. He lived with kids in both of his previous homes and is approved for kids 6 and up. He is approved for kids 6+.

Update (9/27): Gunner's Gossip:
Hi LR Facebook peeps! Gunner here. I've been in my foster home for about 24 hours now and I'm doing well. I met my foster sisters and foster cousin (Jackson is Foster Mom's granddog that 16 weeks old) and we are doing great. I enjoy being outside with all the dogs and all this rain doesn't bother me. It's been told that I like going into creeks and playing around. Foster Mom says I'm a chunky monkey and that I need to lose about 10-15 pounds. Well I started on the green bean diet yesterday. Good thing that I like them! I whined a little in the crate last night when it was time to go to bed but I slept through the night without a problem. I'm told I need to tell you a little about me so here it goes.
I'm 3 years old, neutered, pretty healthy, up-to-date on my vaccines and weigh around 85 pounds black male. I'm really looking for a true forever home because I've been passed around. You see, I came from a breeder in NC and went to my first family. My second family was looking for a friend for their lab so they adopted me from my first family. I've lived on a farm and stayed outside since June 2014. Foster Mom says I'm doing great inside and to tell you that I'm housebroken (no accidents). I'm a strong guy and I pull on the leash so I need some help with that. It's unknown how I do around cats but I'm approved for children ages 6 and up. I did great on the ride here yesterday and I jumped right up in the truck. I enjoy the company of people and dogs. Foster Mom says I tried to friend a skunk on the farm but she figured the skunk didn't like me. We are working on saying goodbye to the slight odor that's left. I'm extremely food motivated and can show you my sit and down.
So, if you think you might be my TRUE forever family that just wants a loving and adoring labbie boy, call your Adoption Coordinator and come meet me in Lynchburg.
Love,
Gunner
