Betty's Story...
Hi! My name is Betty and boy oh boy do I have an interesting story! My owners surrendered me to a shelter b/c they were moving and the nice volunteers at the shelter called A Purposeful Rescue to tell them all about me! They said how adorable I was, how itty bitty and sweet (I weigh 9 lbs) and that my voice box was removed-they seemed pretty horrified about this but I don't really seem to know the difference. I am 8 years old and am just the sweetest dog! When I was rescued no one knew about my heart murmer but the really nice people at the rescue got me a really fancy surgery to correct this and now I have no heart issues and the surgeons said I am a little miracle dog! How about that!?!?! A Miracle Dog! ME! I am now all fixed up and looking for a forever home. If you are in Los Angeles and want to meet me please visit our website for an application. xoxo

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Betty, a Los Angeles Shih Tzu/Maltese dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shih Tzu/Maltese for sale in Los Angeles, or seeking a Shih Tzu/Maltese dog from a breeder in Los Angeles.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Los Angeles already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Los Angeles breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shih Tzu/Maltese breeders who help with Shih Tzu/Maltese rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Los Angeles paves the way for another one to be saved.
