My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This little lady is very dear to my heart. She was found roaming the streets in her full blown pregnant condition. Upon finding her owner it was discovered that no only did they not want her, but they didn’t even have the means to feed her and were somewhat abusive to her. The poor thing was living off of whatever crumbs the kids could scrounge up to feed her. Elsa was due to have puppies any minute and she sure didn’t need them to be born in the shelter. Luckily the family did surrender her to a caring lady that enlisted the help of our rescue. When I got there to get her she was huge and looked miserable, but she wasn’t hardly as close as we thought. About a week and a half later, she had six beautiful, healthy puppies. She raised them inside my doggie building, I kept the puppies in an exercise pen and left the gate open so she could come and go as she pleased. She was a wonderful little mother and the perfect house guest, never bothered a thing. Elsa is pretty quiet, more on the gentle side and she is super sweet and loving. She is very good natured – loves people, good with kids and she gets along great with other dogs and cats. In the evenings I let her out with my dogs so she can get a little exercise…she explores the yard but always stays near me. She is also crate and house trained. Her babies are weaned now, so she is looking for her own wonderful new family. She is a little over a year old, weighs approximately 12-14 pounds, has been spayed, heartworm tested, fecal tested, current on all vaccines, worming, heartworm and flea prevention. Her adoption fee is $400.

Elsa is being fostered in Tennessee. Our rescue ships to the New England area every week and her fee does include transportation. Once adopted she will be transported to her pickup location by a professional dog transport company. Due to state laws, we do not adopt to Maine residents.
