Gibbs of New Leash on Life's Story...
My name’s Gibbs and I’m a one of kind mixed breed consisting of maybe Lab and hound. What everyone knows for sure is that I’m a peaceful low energy boy that loves children, to play with other dogs, and am good on a leash. I’m a lovebug that’s about 2 years old and when I graduate from Pamlico’s New Leash on Life program I’ll be one great companion for a loving family, maybe yours? My foster mom has discovered that I’m obsessed with cats and shouldn’t be around them in my new family.

All NLOL dogs are fully vetted, altered, heartworm tested, UTD on vaccines, and will be ready to go home with their families in Nov. Housebroken, crate trained and basic obedience will make me a very desirable doggie. Adopting families will be able to attend their doggie’s graduation.

If you’re interested in adopting a NLOL dog contact Jackie Schmidt at 649-5504 or Penny Monell at 249-1453. You can also email PAWS at mail@pamlicopaws.net and download an adoption application at pamlicopaws.net on the individual dog’s page.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Gibbs of New Leash on Life, a Oriental Hound (Unknown Type)/Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Hound (Unknown Type)/Labrador Retriever for sale in Oriental, or seeking a Hound (Unknown Type)/Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Oriental.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Oriental already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Oriental breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Hound (Unknown Type)/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Hound (Unknown Type)/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Oriental paves the way for another one to be saved.
