Playful, curious, social

If playing with a string toy were considered an example of on-the-field prowess, this particular Peyton would be right up there with the NFL variety, running out the clock on his worn-out human playmates. He loves it, loves it, loves it.

He dresses formally, with a soft, luxurious tuxedo coat. And on the left side of his lower jaw, he sports a black patch seemingly the result of an affectionate nuzzle with a charcoal briquette.

Peyton has no trouble making friends and playmates, both human and feline-even canine, according to a previous foster who threw a large dog into the mix. He loves to be active, jumping and exploring. He's not particularly vocal...until he notices he's by himself in a room everyone else has vacated. In an odd quirk, Peyton seems to be fascinated by water and enjoys popping into the nearest sink or tub.

Peyton would be happiest in a home with people who enjoy lots of play and interaction, with the occasional time out for snuggling, cuddling and quiet contemplation of the day's events.

Peyton is FeLV+ (Feline Leukemia Virus), which causes a weakened immune system and requires special care. APA! provides some medical assistance after adoption. Cats with FeLV typically have a shortened lifespan. Peyton is not contagious to people or dogs, but should live only with other FeLV+ cats.
