My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Shadow is truly a wonderful cat. Not only does she have a beautiful, long, black coat and gorgeous green eyes, but she's got an amazing temperament. She is an absolute lap cat and is in your lap kneading & purring the second you sit down.

Poor Shadow and her litter came to us after being abandoned by her owners when her kittens were only days old. They were left under a trailer, along with one of Shadow's daughters from a previous litter who was very heavily pregnant herself. Despite being left in these conditions, Shadow does not hold any grudges. She seems to be thankful for the love and attention that she gets and she craves more.

This girl loves attention from people, but she also really loves her daughter, Pixie. The two of them are very bonded and we'd like to see them go to a home together. Pixie is a little reserved and Shadow is fairly forward, but both of them have wonderful temperaments and love to snuggle. Shadow is only 2 years old so have playful moments when she gets a break from being a mom.

Shadow is a very skinny girl from not being properly cared for previously. Now that she's done nursing we are working on getting weight onto her but her weight gain will need to continue once Shadow gets into her forever home. She is scheduled to be spayed soon and can go to her new home once she's fixed.

In her previous home Shadow lived with another young cat and the two of them got along well, according to the neighbour who brought them in. During her time with us, Shadow hasn't been interested in socializing with other cats, but she's such a wonderful momma that she's likely just being protective. We have not seen her around dogs. Although Shadow and Pixie are great cats and quite laid back, neither of them will be comfortable with very young children. They are looking for a calm household to grow in.
