A friendly little guy that loves attention

Radar is a happy-go-lucky guy that absolutely loves to be with people. He is a medium size and is probably not through growing.  He gets along with most other dogs (he seems to prefer females for playmates), loves to play with toys, loves rawhide bones, and is learning how to walk nicely on leash.  He is up to date on his shots, he is heartworm negative, is on monthly preventive, he is neutered, and is microchipped.  He lives in Texas and we would consider an adopter within 100 miles, as we do a home safety check, as well as an application along with reference checks.  If you live farther away, contact us anyway, and we will work with you.  We want to make sure the right pet gets to the right family.  For forever.  So, if you have room in your home and in your heart for a loving little dog, Radar is for you.  Please contact me and we will arrange for you to meet him.

About Red Dog Haven

About Our Rescue Group...

I am an individual that became aware of the euthanasia of animals in 2012, at a shelter in Texas, and to my horror, this was happening everywhere due to overpopulation. I had not been in this arena before. I was completely shocked at the process. I went the very next day to that shelter, with the list of dogs that were to be killed that day. I asked to see 4 of them. I was told I could not see them because they were "in the back". They got the manager at that point, that took me behind those closed doors, and I was only allowed to see 2 due to the fear of spreading germs???? The volunteers helped me by putting one in an adjoining play yard, so I had 2 outside, and I saw the other 2 in the hall as we were passing thru. I adopted 4 dogs on the spot, one black bait dog, one pit bull, and two black mixed sisters. Those dogs walked out of that shelter that day. And that was the start of me adopting the animals. I have adopted and cared for and re-homed dogs ever since. Sometimes I have mamas and puppies. My passion is to get these adopted and then be able to work in another capacity to help in any way I can. My life has been forever changed. All these beating hearts are why we do what we do.

Come Meet Our Pets...

We normally hold adoptions in conjunction with other rescues in and around Denton, TX and Sherman, TX.

Our Adoption Process...

We charge $75 for the adult dogs. This is a re-homing fee that shows a sincere interest in the pet by the potential adopter. We require an application with references, a vet reference, and a home safety inspection. References are called.
