My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Although we make the best guess on the breed and size of our dogs, because they come from shelters, we can never be completely certain of the genetic makeup of the dog. All we can tell you for sure is that they are 100% RESCUED! If an animal is still posted for adoption, he/she is still available,

Hi my name is Peanut! I'm being fostered in a home in the Mount Greenwood area of Chicago with my siblings Daisy, Mabel and Copper. I love playing with the kids that visit in my foster home. I'm a happy, playful, and friendly pup. I'm still a puppy so I need someone who is home more who can help me with my housetraining.

I was an owner surrender from Kentucky with my mom and my siblings. I arrived to my rescue on September 5, 2015 My mom looks to be a Coonhound with a fabulous personality and so very kind. My mom was a VERY thin 38 pounds when she arrived to my rescue, and at her perfect weight will be around 50-55 pounds. My Mom has already found her forever home so now it's my turn. The rescue doesn't know who my dad was, but the vet thinks I may have some German Shepherd in my genes. As of September 28th, I weighed 11.6 pounds and was born around July 11, 2015. My rescue thinks that based on my current age and weight I will grow to be around 50-80 pounds. I'm sorry, my rescue doesn't feel an apartment is a suitable living condition for me.

I am loving, sweet and playful. I always love to go outside and play with my siblings, and always find a squeaky toy or something else to amuse me. I also love to come inside and cuddle up next to someone. I'm very good with using the puppy pads in my puppy pen, and am learning to go potty outside. It is going to be very exciting to meet my forever family! If you would like to meet me, please go to www.angelsonwheels.org to complete the on-line adoption application. Because of my age I'm not fixed yet, but the rescue will pay for that through one of their participating vets when I'm old enough. Because I'm not fixed yet, my new family must reside within an hour of Joliet, Glen Ellyn, Yorkville, Oswego, or Naperville.

Angels On Wheels Animal Rescue must have a completed, submitted, and approved adoption application, sometimes a home visit, reference checked including the vet of current and/or past cats and/or dogs, to approve an application. At the meet and greet, we will need to meet all members of the family including any four legged doggies in your home to assure everyone gets alone. Please note that the breeds and sizes posted in this biography are educated best guesses and are not guaranteed. On-line adoption applications can be obtained on our website at angelsonwheels.org, then click on the "forms" tab.

The adoption fee is $300 and includes the neuter/spaying which will be done when a little older, but paid for by one of our participating vets, and you will receive a spay/neuter coupon for that and a fully refundable deposit will be required to assure it's done, they are up to date on routine vaccination, microchip, deworming with panacur, received Revolution for the prevention of fleas and heartworm, any other medical needs, and your 1st vet visit at one of our participating vets.
