My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

*Shy girl looking for compassionate home*

Autumn is at least 7/8 years old and spent her life in filthy conditions. Filled with fleas, her hair was severely matted and her belly was full of mammary tumors. Her teeth were rotted and her knees were painful. She was just a smelly ball of matted hair when her family decided they were done with her.

This 13 lb. angel has the scars of frankenstein on her belly now from her major surgery removing all her tumors. But she pulled through like a champ! And once she recovered from that, she had to go under again for her knee surgery and significant dental cleaning and teeth removal. Once again, she recovered quickly and with a wagging tail.

Autumn is now medically sound and is becoming accustomed to her life indoors. Her hair is still very thin (should thicken with time and continued high quality food). She is still shy and has her favorite hiding spots. In a quiet home, she should make several appearances and only hide if too noisy. She knows exactly when feeding time is and makes sure not to miss a meal. She is getting used to be picked up and handled and pays attention to when you're home or not as you'll find her joining in on barking out the window when your car pulls in the driveway.

Autumn has a very sweet disposition. She is very sensitive and would never hurt a fly. She would flourish in a quiet home that has the compassion to continue showing her life and helping her to feel safe. She is wonderful with other dogs and will hide if they start playing too loud but I think it's only to "get out of the way", not because she is frightened. She has simply never been given the opportunity to play so she doesn't know how. She is perfectly fine with cats as well. She would never chase them or harm them in any way.

This amazingly gentle girl deserves some comfort in her life. She is not completely house-trained (gentle and positive reinforcement required or puppy pads like she uses now). She is crate-trained.

If you are interested in adopting, please complete an adoption application located at
https://dogsunlimited.wufoo.com/forms/adoption-application-for-dogs-unlimited-rescue/

All Dogs Unlimited Rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on all shots, and are given a monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventative. Upon adoption, all vet records and any current medications are provided to the adopter.

THE SUBMISSION OF YOUR APPLICATION DOES NOT GUARANTEE AN ADOPTION NOR DOES IT OBLIGATE YOU TO ADOPT. Multiple applications are accepted for any available pet and a home is chosen that is the best match between the available pet and the potential furever family. Your application will be processed as quickly as possible and if approved, a home visit would be scheduled. No adoption is final until an Adoption Agreement is presented and agreed to by both parties.

Our goal is to find the right match of our dogs to their new family so all involved are furever happy! Questions: email adopt@dogsunlimitedrescue.org

And THANK YOU for considering a rescue dog for your family!
