Bullet is a 4-year old, timid, small (46 lbs.) black and white Pit Bull-type dog who was rescued nine months ago from a life of abuse and neglect. Although he came from a rough situation, he never lost his faith in people and has learned to trust again. Bullet is seeking a quiet home he can call his own; a place where he can be the only dog and continue his hard work on training.
Bullet’s previous owners surrendered him following neglect and abuse charges. He had either been chained outside in the backyard or in a crate his entire life. He was thin, malnourished, and had come to the attention of authorities after he was taken into a hospital for ingesting rat poison left under the house where he was living.
Bullet is currently at a commercial kennel where the staff and volunteers have paid for his boarding and other special treatments and loved him as if he were their own. Possibly due to his past experiences with neglect, this sweetheart prefers to be in the company of people and spends a lot of time asking to sit in laps! Volunteers report that he does enjoy the occasional walk, but he loves affection more than anything.
Overall, Bullet is a very loving, playful, and loyal dog. Once he knows you, he gives you his heart. It is highly recommended that Bullet continue his training post-adoption. Support is available to him and his future family, and Bullet promises to make it as easy as possible for everyone!
