Champ's Story...
Hi there! My name's Champ, what's yours?? I am a cute little male chihuahua, and am around 10 years old. I was recently found as a stray and some nice woman brought me to the safety of the shelter. The people are nice here, and it sure beats wandering around the streets by myself, but what I'd really like is a home with someone to love me. Could that someone be YOU??

We're not sure what happened to my owners. Maybe they didn't have time for me anymore, or just got bored with me now that I'm older. All I know is that I have plenty of love to give a new family, if they'll just give me a chance! Since I'm such a little guy, I would prefer a home without young children. Prior to being adopted I will be up to date on vaccinations, neutered, and will have a microchip. All I need now is YOU to take me home and love me.

The shelter is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 1-5, Tuesday and Thursday from 1-8, and Saturday from 10-2. Come visit!

You can see some of our adoptable pets almost every Saturday at the Petsmart in Greensburg from noon to 6pm and some Sundays too. All adoption fees include spay/neuter and up-to-date vaccinations.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Champ, a Youngwood Chihuahua dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Chihuahua for sale in Youngwood, or seeking a Chihuahua dog from a breeder in Youngwood.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Youngwood already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Youngwood breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Chihuahua breeders who help with Chihuahua rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Youngwood paves the way for another one to be saved.
