Ralph's Story...
Meet Ralph! This handsome boy came to AFW as a stray in fairly poor condition. We're not sure what happened to his owners, but it was evident that he hadn't had the best care. We're guessing he's around 5 years old and is a border collie mix. He's a friendly boy, who deserves much better than the life he's had up to now.

Prior to being adopted he will be up to date on vaccinations, neutered, and will have a microchip. All he needs now is someone to give him a chance and love him. Could that someone be YOU??

The shelter is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 1-5, Tuesday and Thursday from 1-8, and Saturday from 10-2. Come visit!

You can see some of our adoptable pets almost every Saturday at the Petsmart in Greensburg from noon to 6pm and some Sundays too. All adoption fees include spay/neuter and up-to-date vaccinations.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ralph, a Youngwood Border Collie dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Border Collie for sale in Youngwood, or seeking a Border Collie dog from a breeder in Youngwood.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Youngwood already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Youngwood breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Border Collie breeders who help with Border Collie rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Youngwood paves the way for another one to be saved.
