Zook SOS's Story...
AVAILABLE 09-27-15 Sweet Zook was brought to the Shelter on 09-19-15 by a man who said he was moving. A couple of days later a lady called saying that she was Zook's owner. She was in the hospital and would come get him when she got out. Unfortunately, she is out of the hospital, but unable to take him, so Zook is now available for adoption. Zook is a Jack Russell Terrier Mix - maybe a little Rat Terrier mixed in as he's pretty small except for his weight. He's a bit overweight, although he has managed to loose a few pounds since his arrival at the Shelter. Zook is such a sweet friendly little guy. Although he's 9 years old, he is quite spunky. He's house trained and walks well on leash. Zook likes to sit on laps and nap in his bed. He's neutered, heart worm negative and his shots are up to date. Zook qualifies for our SOS (Save Our Seniors) program. If his adopter is age 55 or older, his adoption fee is half. Zook really wants to be back in a loving home, so if you've been looking for a little dog who is well mannered and "old enough to know better", PLEASE come to the Shelter in Elizabeth City and meet little Zook.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Zook SOS, a Elizabeth City Jack Russell Terrier/Rat Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Jack Russell Terrier/Rat Terrier for sale in Elizabeth City, or seeking a Jack Russell Terrier/Rat Terrier dog from a breeder in Elizabeth City.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Elizabeth City already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Elizabeth City breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Jack Russell Terrier/Rat Terrier breeders who help with Jack Russell Terrier/Rat Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Elizabeth City paves the way for another one to be saved.
