My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Gertie's not just another pretty face! This gorgeous girl is highly intelligent, very alert, and loaded with get-up-and-go. She's housetrained, too! Gertie is an athletic 1-year-old who weighs a sturdy 35 pounds and we're also happy to report that she has tested negative for heartworm disease. Of course, like most working-breed dogs, she'll need daily mental and physical activity, to keep her happy and healthy. Actually, we're not really sure what breeds combined to produce this happy accident-of-nature, but we do know that Gertie is highly sociable and eager-to-please, and that she craves human companionship.

So, if you are active and are looking for a loyal canine companion who can brighten any day, please contact Gertie's sponsor at (225) 205-9330. All dogs adopted through Friends of the Animals are current on vaccinations, microchipped, and spayed or neutered prior to adoption.
