Maxie's Story...
If Maxie doesn't tug at your heart than no one will. Maxie came to us from our Newark facility after she was given up by her family that could no longer keep her due to landlord issues. We can't imagine how it must feel for Maxie being at this stage in her life, and becoming homeless. We were told that Maxie is 6 years old but that's not the case. She is around 10, maybe a little older, and Maxie has some issues that were neglected for most of her life. She had severe ear infections that were never treated, so we are working on healing them now. She has some heart disease as well, and has a little bit of difficulty walking, but is very happy to be carried. If you're looking for a lap dog, Maxie is the dog for you! Nothing makes her happier than to curl up in your lap and be doted upon. Maxie is an extremely easy going little lady that does not ask for much at all. She's housebroken, gets along fine with everyone she meets, doesn't mind cats and would be fine with a well behaved, quiet canine companion. If you're interested in Maxie, you would just need to speak with our veterinarian about her heart disease but basically, Maxie just wants a wonderful, loving home to live out the rest of her life in with a family to love her. Why Adoption is a Great Option

Maxie, a Forked River Pug dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Pug for sale in Forked River, or seeking a Pug dog from a breeder in Forked River.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Forked River already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Forked River breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Pug breeders who help with Pug rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Forked River paves the way for another one to be saved.
