Romulus's Story...
Meoww. My name is Romulus, I am a 4 month old black, neutered male Domestic Short Hair. I was found running the streets with my brother Remus during high traffic. The nice person who found us decided we were unsafe and brought us to the shelter to help protect us. While I appreciate the gesture I am not one to need the protection of others …. well that is what I would like you to think (honestly I was so scared I thought I was going to die!). I have since composed myself and come to the conclusion that I am not meant to be an outdoor warrior. I was destined to fight the prestigious battles of the indoor battlefield. To protect my family from the furious fuzz-balls that accumulate under the couch and the seductive catnip mice that try to entice even the most resolved warriors… I've fallen for them and survived but only barely they are not foes to be taken lightly. So if you feel you need the protection and dedication of a kitten protector such as myself please come visit me here at the shelter so that we may begin discussing my new assignment with you. Forever guarding you from the dangers that thrive in your home.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Romulus, a Murphysboro Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Murphysboro, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Murphysboro.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Murphysboro already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Murphysboro breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Murphysboro paves the way for another one to be saved.
