"Hello, everyone! My name is TONY. I am a 4 year old, 53 pound Pit/Boxer mix.
I was already past due to be put down at a kill-shelter in New York City, when I was miraculously saved by a rescue because of a kind lady who offered to foster me.
I completed a 6 week training class at PetSmart, and even received a diploma! I know sit, stay, lay down, come, wait, crate, drop it, leave it, and take it. I am crate-trained and walk well on a leash. My foster mom says I am VERY smart and that I learn quickly. I have lots of energy, so a home with a good sized yard or a quiet, nearby park would be best.
Despite what I have been through, people are my favorite! I am a VERY affectionate boy. I love to sit close and snuggle. I love to throw myself over your lap and get my head and ears rubbed.
Because of my past, I am fearful of stranger dogs, but please don’t let that deter you from adding me to your family! At my foster home, there are three other dogs who live there, and although I was afraid of them at first, they no longer scare me and we can live in harmony. It is believed that I do not like cats though, and a home with older children would probably be best because sometimes I get a little excited and like to jump.
