Maggie's Story...
Maggie here! Nice to meet you! I'm a sweet younger gal just looking for that right someone to come and sweep me off my paws! I know what you are thinking..."how could such a beautiful young lady still be single?" I have been pondering that same question for a while now and the only answer that I could come up with is that I am too awesome for some ordinary person to handle! I mean, come on, just look at me! I'm still quite playful and love to play for hours but there is nothing better than curling up next to your human after a long day. I should mention that I am not interested in sharing my home or human with any other four-footed friend! I get very upset at just the thought of not being your furry one and only so if you are looking to have a big family then sorry you are not the one for me. Think you can handle all this cat? Come on over and say hello to me today!

Before making the trip to visit the shelter we strongly recommend checking our website for information on adoption policies and procedures. Please understand that because we are a busy place and because so many animals need our care and attention, adoptions are on a first come basis and no animal will be put on hold. To inquire about a pet's availability or for more information, we encourage you to visit our shelter in person. Due to the high volume of interest, email and phone inquiries may not be returned on a daily basis. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to your visit! 978-283-6055 ex 10 for reception desk

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Maggie, a Gloucester Domestic Shorthair cat was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Gloucester, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair cat from a breeder in Gloucester.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Gloucester already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Gloucester breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Gloucester paves the way for another one to be saved.
