Soft Little Sweetheart!
*** Courtesy Listing *** - Chula is a one-year-old Toy Poodle/Maltese mix. She weighs nine pounds. When her current foster mom rescued her from a Puerto Vallarta, Mexico pound where she was about to be euthanized along with her older sister, she weighed only four pounds, was covered with fleas and ticks, dirty, and gravely undernourished. Surprisingly, considering that Chula's history is unknown except that she and her sister were abandoned for some reason, with Chula less than one year old, she is a very peaceful and happy energetic little girl, ready to cuddle and to play. She has seen a lot, so has a deep look. But she has obviously been raised with lots of love, because both she and her sister love to give and receive affection and wag their tails when meeting a friendly human.
With all natural treatments Chula survived and flourished. Her innocence probably kept her going, while being protected by her older sister. This also allows her to play wildly with other new dog friends she made over the past four months while gaining weight and then being spayed, groomed, and now ready for adoption. Chula, like most dogs in Mexico, was trained from birth to be a guard dog, so she will bark when someone new is at the door, but is not aggressive and reaches up to be petted when she is told, This is a friend! She has not been aggressive toward cats, so if a cat in the home, just needs to learn that they, too, are friends. She is very eager to be the dog you want her to be. If you correct her loudly, she sinks to the floor, submissively.
Chula is hypoallergenic, does not shed, has one of the softest coats of hair ever created. She feels and looks like a little lamb. Her touch is so gentle that if she puts her paws on your knees to say hello, you can not even feel it. She is truly adorable. She loves to be held and petted, and wants to nuzzle your ear gently first thing in the morning, even if she was not allowed on the bed, some how she manages to arrive under your pillow to wake up to!
She walks nicely on a leash and is excited to step into her halter and have the lead attached. She is 90% housetrained. Sometimes at night when she can not get out there has been an accident by the door, but easily remedied as her intention is to go outside. She is a companion breed, meant to be with her human as much as possible. She would not be happy being left alone all day. She loves to socialize with other humans and other dogs, of all sizes. She is a little timid, but so curious she will explore anything. Her special boyfriend, Syd is also up for adoption (ask us), just in case anyone wants 2 adorable little dogs that play beautifully together and both are hypoallergenic! Chula needs a affectionate person who will keep her forever and love her as much as she will love them.
