My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Trouble! We know his mom is a small black lab and-- looking at his siblings' long, wiry hair-- dad could be a wire-haired terrier. Since this is just a guess, only those willing to take pot-luck in terms of his ultimate breed and size should apply!

Trouble looks and acts like a lab--he is already fetching things. After a few days in a foster home he was sleeping through the night in a crate without an accident, and is already on the way to being house-trained. He is good with kids, but also likes hanging out with his people. His foster mom described him as "loyal". He is fine with older dogs, and likes the company of another dog to snuggle and sleep with. He has typical puppy energy, and will need regular exercise as well as someone to just spend time playing with him. In spite of his name, this pup will become part of your family without any Trouble at all!

Because he is so small (under 7 pounds) and so young (10 weeks on10/1), Trouble needs a family where someone is home part or all of the day to get him potty-trained and keep him socialized. Puppy obedience school is also required, once he is old enough.

You can meet Trouble at his current foster home, Wilmette Pet Center, 625 Green Bay Rd., during normal store hours (847-251-6750, www.wilmettepetcenter.com) Though you may want to take him home on the spot, please know you will first have to go through our normal application process.

Trouble's estimated date of birth is 7/24/15, and his adoption fee of $375 includes: vet exam, DAPP (distemper combo) vaccination, bordetella vaccination, microchip, fecal exam, deworming, flea and tick prevention, heartworm preventative and neuter.
