Wagner is a sweet laid back 6 year old red & white boy. His adoptive owners were both facing serious health issues and could no longer care for him. He is a gentleman and will patiently wait for his treat or food. He is very laid back, loves men, and gets excited when his foster dad comes home. He will sit and lean into his foster dad and just soaks up the love. He doesn't like to be bothered while sleeping so no small kids for him. He is the perfect age that still likes to play with another dog or his toys but he loves to sleep too. He is a great car rider and loves to go for walks. He is best friends with his foster sister Oakely, and he would love another dog buddy in his home. He loves having a fenced yard and going out to bark at the neighbor dogs. He is crated trained and knows the dog door.

About Basset Hound Rescue of Georgia

About Our Rescue Group...

Basset Hound Rescue of Georgia is a non-profit, volunteer effort to save abandonded and mistreated Basset Hounds. Our rescue effort began in 1991, and we have rescued over 2,500 Bassets since that time. Orginally privately funded by two volunteers, today BHRG is a non-profit charitable organization which exists solely on donations.

Orphaned Bassets are held in foster care until permanent, loving homes can be found.

Adoptions are held each weekend of the month at locations in metro-Atlanta. See our website at www.bhrg.org for specific dates and locations.

A $200 adoption donation is required for dogs under 8 years of age. A $100 donation is required of dogs 8 years old and older. This donation defrays the cost of shots, spay/neuter, heartworm treatments, and other vet costs.

Come Meet Our Pets...

Our Adoption Process...

Visit our website at http://www.bhrg.org/adoption.htm and download an adoption application. Once complete, it can be mailed or faxed per the instructions on the application. Once the application is approved, a pre-adoption home visit is required for families outside the metro-Atlanta area. Post-adoption visits are required of families with approved applications. Once the application is received & approved, a volunteer will call to help you select the right hound for your lifestyle.
