Daisy is available for adoption in the Santa Barbara CA area. Potential adopters will need to complete a no obligation application and have a pre adoption home visit. No out of area adoption applications please. Please email info@k-9pals.org for a no-obligation adoption application.

Daisy is about one year old but still very puppy- like in her behavior. Although she looks more like a Coton de Tulear than anything else, we do not know if she is one of those, so we are describing her as Maltese and Bichon. She has very soft slightly curly fur and she does not shed, and gray spots in her white coat.

Daisy has her mellow and calm moments but she most of the time she is spunky and busy and wants to engage in play, chewing things, and exploring in her yard, or taking walks or something to keep her busy and out of trouble, perhaps agility training? Daisy is very smart and very treat motivated. She is inquisitive about the world around her, and still being very puppy-like, she likes to use her mouth to learn about the world, ie. chew on things, like sticks, baskety-woven things, and she likes to be mouthy/play bitey in her play style with dogs as well as with people. So obviously she still has a lot to learn, so will need to be placed in a home with an owner who loves to spend time training her with positive reinforcement training, and no small kids. When she is ready for her calmer moments she is very affectionate, and enjoys being petted and brushed.

She loves her crate and is very willing to go in it and settle down for quiet time, and so confinement does not upset her. She enjoys going in her crate and night and when she has to be left at home, so she is easily crated or x-penned when left alone. Daisy is not completely housetrained, but working on it.

Because of her breed type, she will need daily brushing/grooming and monthly trimming to keep her coat in good healthy condition.

Daisy likes other dogs, and loves playing with dogs her same size and play style. So she would do well living with other dogs. Daisy's ideal home would be with dog experienced adults, other dogs or no other dogs, and possibly older children depending on their skill sets with being around dogs.
