Jesse was living with a homeless family before finding a new life with GRRSWF. He is docile, loving and needs little exercise.

Jesse is an affectionate little guy, and loves being with furry friends, part of the gang! This boy is estimated to be about 12 years old. He is a real love muffin, and enjoys being petted.

He stays close to his “people,” watching to make sure he misses nothing, such as his cheese snacks! He can hear the crackle of cellophane wrappers being opened from a city block away! Jesse is a happy guy, and a wonderful companion.

Jesse had a severe case of  demodex when he came to GRRSWF, which destroyed many of the hair follicles on his legs. The demodex has cleared, and his foster family is treating his skin with frequent baths to help him regain healthy skin.

Jesse is a special dog who will touch your heart with his courage and love. Is he the one for you?

The Golden Retriever Rescue of Southwest Florida is a proud recipient of funding from Maddie’s Fund®  (www.maddiesfund.org), helping to achieve a no-kill nation #ThanksToMaddie.  With their support, we have been able to provide extensive treatment through a veterinarian.

All GRRSWF dogs have undergone a full examination by a veterinarian, and any health concerns have been addressed. If you are interested in learning more about Jesse, please contact us at applications@grrswf.org, or you can read about our adoption process in detail and download an application from our website at http://www.grrswf.org/index-2.html

PLEASE NOTE: We serve Southwest Florida from Naples to Ocala.

If you live OUTSIDE of our service area and are interested in adopting one of our dogs, please note that we will only consider an application for senior dogs (over the age of 8) or dogs with special needs (usually medication).  BEFORE submitting your application, send an email to info@GRRSWF.org to request an exception to our service area. If that approval is given, you will be asked to complete an application, clearly stating on it that you are interested in a special needs or senior dog.  However, please be aware that, unfortunately, there are some locations we simply cannot cover because we do not have sufficient representation in those areas to perform the required home visits prior to the adoption, or follow-up visits afterward. If that is the case, we will be happy to refer you to a local rescue or shelter.

About Golden Retriever Rescue of Southwest Florida, Inc.

About Our Rescue Group...

Golden Retriever Rescue of Southwest Florida, Inc. (GRRSWF) is an all volunteer 501(c)3 non-profit dog rescue organization. Based in Southwest Florida, Golden Retriever Rescue of Southwest Florida is dedicated to finding exceptional homes for exceptional Golden Retrievers and Golden mixes that are homeless, abandoned in Shelters, or surrendered by their owners.

Golden Retriever Rescue of Southwest Florida works to raise awareness of the plight of the Golden Retriever breed specifically through community education as well as the benefits of adopting a rescue animal in need. We also support and promote responsible spay and neutering, as well as programs that are designed to prevent animal abuse, neglect and cruelty.

Come Meet Our Pets...

All of our dogs are placed in loving foster homes who evaluate them while treating them as one of their own family, so we do not have a formal boarding facility. Once you have identified a dog of interest and have submitted an application, then you will be able to schedule a visit to the foster home and the first meeting with your new family member.

Our Adoption Process...

Potential adopters are asked to complete and application form, GRRSWF will perform a vet check followed by a telephone interview with the adopter, we will then set up a home visit in order to make the best possible match between the dog and it's new home. We do not charge any application fees. Adoption donations are on a sliding scale according to the dog's age and medical needs.
