Poppy's Story...
Rio(13) and Poppy (6) are German Shorthaired Pointers and have shared their lives together. They could be adopted as a pair or separately with the right matched home.
Poppy is full of energy and LOVES to run. She delights in playing with other dogs and is respectful of cats and would love an owner who also loves to run! She is crate trained and does well with children and loves to cuddle on the couch.
Everyone that meets Rio says "What a sweet dog!" If not living with Poppy he would enjoy the companionship of a another dog. Although a "senior" he still loves to walk and for his age is in stable health. Both are spayed/neutered

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Poppy, a Anchorage German Shorthaired Pointer dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a German Shorthaired Pointer for sale in Anchorage, or seeking a German Shorthaired Pointer dog from a breeder in Anchorage.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Anchorage already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Anchorage breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even German Shorthaired Pointer breeders who help with German Shorthaired Pointer rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Anchorage paves the way for another one to be saved.
