Dottie was owned by a backyard breeder who had intentions of using Dottie as a breeder dog, but after her first litter he decided her babies weren't "pretty" enough so he got rid of them AND Dottie . . . which is the best thing that ever could have happened to her!! Now Dottie is being fostered in a home with lots of love and other dogs and puppies to play with, and she is very grateful for her freedom. True to her Doxie lineage, she can be a little "particular": She doesn't give kisses, but she loves to sit next to you on the couch or perch on the back of your chair like a cat. Upon first meeting she insists on checking you out, and then decides if she'd like to bark at you as an "initiation" before befriending you, which is why we recommend any children in the home be over the age of 10. She's a bit of a chow hound and will sometimes grumble at other dogs when treats are around (never at people). But she loves playing with other dogs when there are no treats to hog. She runs around the yard with all of them -- the big, the small, the fast and the bouncy! Dottie is about a year old, she weighs a healthy 10 pounds, and she's already spayed.
