The following is from Kyle's current foster home.
Kyle was brought to the shelter as a stray, emaciated and showed signs of serious neglect. During his stay in the shelter I befriended him and worked closely with him for couple of months. Kyle was struggling in the stressful confined environment. When a sudden decision was made to put him down, I could not allow that to happen and with the help of a rescue group pulled him out of the shelter. Having cats in my house hold I was not able to have Kyle live with me. I have been boarding him with German Shepherd Rescue of Sacramento Valley for the last six months.
Kyle is a quiet, calm & affectionate dog who cares most for a human companion. He is confident, alert, quick, very smart, a good protector, loves to play with the ball, and can amuse himself for a long time.
Kyle gets along well with most dogs, but he is a dominant male who will not back away from a challenge. He will not be good with cats. He is mildly aggressive around his food, so a home without young children is in order. Kyle would probably do best as an only dog.
Kyle has not been trained yet responds very well to the few commands I have practiced with him. He has an excellent off-leash recall and is very tuned-in to his caregiver. On leash, he does very well. Kyle is very strong, and his 75 lbs is almost all muscle.
At German Shepherd Rescue of Sacramento Valley (GSRSV), a sanctuary where dogs are not in kennels, Kyle is socializing with the other dogs.
Paw Printz is urgently seeking a loving permanete or foster home for him.
Please e:mail PitbullRescue@PawPrintz.org for an application. There will be an adoption fee and a homecheck. Thank you for your interest!
