Adoption fee is $175 - this fee allows us to fully vet the dog according to age, to include spay/neuter, heartworm testing (treatment if needed), age appropriate vaccines, and heartworm and flea prevention while under our care. In many cases, this adoption fee does NOT cover the cost of vet care and rarely if ever covers the cost of food and toys for the dog.

If now is not the time to adopt, please make a donation to help us care for this dog. Donations can be paypal'ed to arlofnwga@gmail.com, mailed to ARL at 1384 Self Lake Rd, Fairmount, GA 30139, or called in directly to our veterinarian, Whatley Kinney Vet Clinic, to help with medical care at 706-291-4587.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Jake, a Fairmount Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Fairmount, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Fairmount.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Fairmount already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Fairmount breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Fairmount paves the way for another one to be saved.
