My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello everybody! My name is Hendrix. I am a 3-year-old neutered male Hound/Lab mix. I weigh approximately 65 pounds.

Unlike many of the other pups who have been through the shelter system, most of my history is known. My sister and I were originally adopted from a county shelter by a wonderful woman. She was truly the best! She loved us and cared for us like we were her children. We were always made to feel like part of the family. Life was perfect! We had free roam of the house and could go inside or outside as we pleased. We got lots of attention and we were even given fresh fruits and vegetables as treats! Which by the way, we are obsessed with. We also had a ton of friends - both dogs and humans! We could not have asked for more.

Unfortunately, our perfect life couldn't last forever. Mom got really sick and had to undergo a bunch of medical testing and no longer had the time for us. She was heartbroken! She wanted to keep us so badly, but didn't feel like it would be fair to us. With a very heavy heart she decided to take us to a local shelter. We could tell that she felt terrible. She was nearly in tears as she drove away. As you can imagine, it was a sad day for all of us.

As fate would have it, we only spent 2 nights at the shelter. A volunteer heard about us and knew that we didn't belong in a pound. She got in touch with the people at CageFree and asked them if they had room for us. And guess what?? They did! Our humans friends are now on a mission to find us forever homes. Whether we go together or apart, we know that we have a bright future ahead of us!

Both my sister and I have been taught basic obedience. We know "sit," "stay," "down," and "up." We're very smart!

If you are looking for a really sweet, loving, playful, curious pup who is housebroken, non-destructive, and an all around well-behaved dog, you should not pass me up! I promise to be the best dog you'll ever have.

I am one amazing pup, but don't just take my word for it. Contact my friends at CageFree and schedule a time to come meet me and see what all the fuss is about!
