My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Juliet is a beautiful 3 year old brindle girl, who came to us with a broken hock.Juliet appears to do fine with small dogs and cats. She will be available soon.

FOSTER UPDATE:

Juliet is an extremely confident dog, perhaps even a little alpha, as she tries to get in and out the door before our dog. She has shown a little anxiety when put into new situations, such as getting more freedom in the house, but she quickly gets over it. Juliet has big, beautiful smiles, showing all of her teeth when she is happy!

Juliet is extremely affectionate, even giving kisses. She likes to be close to people, being petted and shown attention. She will go off and sleep in another room, but then will come looking for us. Juliet has done fine with our greyhound and other greyhounds she has met and has done very well with our cat. While she did have a couple of growling episodes when dogs got in her face at an event with really close quarters, she also had a friendly meeting with the neighbor’s 25 pound dog. She seems to like to do the approaching.

She is housebroken and will whine at the back door when she has to go out and get a little pacey. She seems to need to go out fairly frequently, so while she is not using a doggie door with us, she would probably greatly benefit from having access to one. She has tremendously enjoyed the brief walks she has had so far, and we’re sure will enjoy longer walks as she is able. She does need some leash training as she has a tendency to pull at times and might benefit from a harness.

Juliet relishes being in a home and being part of a family. She wants to please, and we suspect that Juliet will love to sit on the couch cuddled up to or on her person and maybe even be a dog that will like to sleep with her person. Juliet will do best in a home where she can be shown a lot of attention and love and have people comfortable with her showing affection in return. Her people should not be gone for long periods of time every day. She could live with another dog, but we don’t feel that it is mandatory. Juliet can live successfully with cats. We feel that she could be fabulous 1st greyhound for someone new to adopting the breed!
